Think and Compare The roughly $1.3B domestic
market for baby seats has seen little
change over the past forty years; although each year there are more
cars and
trucks. Each year they have become progressively heavier, faster, more
powerful and more dangerous.
The baby seat industry has not kept pace with the rate of change in the automobile industry.
Grim
Statistics
Each year, 23,000 children under the age of 5 are
seriously injured as passengers in cars, while
using CRS.
Since car seats were introduced in 1964, approximately a
million children have been seriously injured while in a CRS
and
During this same time period approximately 35,000 children have been killed.
Federal Law that requires children under the age of 6 or less than
45
pounds to use a CRS while being transported in a moving vehicle.
In a landmark Judicial ruling, the Appellate Court in the State of Missouri found that the Government's rules and guidelines for the design of safety seats were weak and inadequate as a defense in a personal injury case, Dorel v. Uxa.
The Uxa family was awarded $10,000,000.00
Between 1994 – 2008, while using available CRS,
there have been
more than 4250 children have been killed in car accidents.
Our goal

accident
related injuries and deaths to children through the use of state of the
